The TC90 Remote Mount Industrial Thermocouple combines rugged MGO-PAC sensing construction with a flexible lead and remotely mounted connection head. Designed for demanding process and OEM applications, the remote configuration allows the termination head or transmitter to be positioned away from excessive process heat or difficult installation areas. Configurable thermocouple types, sheath materials, process fittings, lead protection, connection heads, and transmitter options make the TC90 adaptable to a wide range of industrial temperature measurement requirements.

The Industrial Thermocouple Assembly known as the TC90 MGO-PAC Remote Mount is constructed for use in industrial temperature measurement applications in which the sensing point and the connection head must be kept separate. Because of its remote-mount arrangement the thermocouple probe can be installed at the process and the connection head, transmitter, or termination point can be placed in an area away from excessive heat, vibration, or other harsh environmental conditions.
A rugged method of measuring can be achieved using a mineral-insulated MGO-PAC sensing element for use with process equipment, machinery, vessels, piping, furnaces, and OEM systems. The TC90 is offered in Type J, K, T, E, and N thermocouples, with measuring junctions that are grounded, ungrounded, or exposed. Both simplex and duplex arrangements are available in order to meet varying control and redundancy requirements.
Engineers have the choice of a number of sheath materials, such as 304, 310, 316, and 321 stainless steel, Inconel® 600, SS446, and Incoloy® 800, together with various sheath diameters. By offering custom immersion and lead lengths, it becomes easier to incorporate the TC90 into new equipment or modify it for use in an existing process installation.
The remote connection can be set up with various types of wire insulation, together with stainless steel braiding, armour, or shielding, according to the way it is installed. Both fixed and adjustable process fittings are available and the assembly can also be arranged to be used with a thermowell. For the connection head there are options ranging from general-purpose models made from aluminium and stainless steel to those that are explosion-proof and designed for on-site transmitters and displays.
The TC90 may be connected to a ceramic terminal block for control-system integration or can be supplied with a 4–20 mA transmitter or a 4–20 mA/HART transmitter. Calibration in accordance with ASTM E220 is available on request.
The fact that the TC90 features remote mounting, can be constructed in a configurable way, has rugged MGO-PAC sensing and a range of transmitter options makes it a practical option for engineers and OEMs who are designing maintainable industrial temperature measurement systems.
