Tempotech Controls offers custom-length and size protection tubes made from Mullite designed to meet specific requirements for various industrial applications.

Key Feature:-
  • Size(OD) 3/8″-1.00″ (16mm-32mm) Custom size also available
  • Custom Process Connection available
  • Custom Length as per application
  • Maximum temperatrue 1590 Deg C

Application Note

Mullite Porcelain has an optimal operating temperature of up to 2900°F (1590°C), making it an excellent choice for high-temperature applications. It outperforms Alumina in terms of thermal shock resistance. However, Mullite protection tubes should be handled carefully due to their limited mechanical shock resistance. To prevent mechanical damage, secondary metal outer tubes can be used for added protection. Mullite thermocouple protection tubes are designed to be gas-tight at elevated temperatures. When used in horizontal installations and at high temperatures, Mullite tubes must be properly supported to avoid breakage. These tubes should not serve as primary protection for noble metal thermocouples, such as platinum-based thermocouples, when temperatures exceed 2200°F (1200°C), as the silica in Mullite may contaminate the platinum elements without sufficient air circulation. A Typical application for Klin with Type K Thermocouples and Industrial furnace.
